@amadhan1

What a joy to apprehend your work. Tolkien composed in poetics for a reason, and you have captured the grace of his notes. Well done, sir.

@JoNev1

"The grey was a friend, the white is a vow" ... Wow, amazing work once again, mellon! 👏

@robertfrith771

Thank you. I needed that today. Having lost my wife a little over two months ago to a fast-burning malignant cancer, and being left to care for two youngs kids (12 and 10), I made a vow before she left...and reaffirmed it at the funeral.

It was no-where near as poetic as this or as Tolkein, or even as the PJ films. But I have always felt the scene at the bridge to be Gandalf's finest hour. The hour where he finally accepted his fate and stepped forward none-the-less...

@MrDanraven

Gandalph said "A wizard is never late. He arrives exactly when he needs to." Yet the Grey was late to meet Frodo, late at Bree, Early at Weathertop etc. The White arrived exactly when needed at Helms Deep, Gondor, etc. Iluvator sent Gandolph to a time management seminar.

@prime-mate

"I miss my hat." Spoke the blade sheathed in wisdom.

@HgHg-yp6ft

In the books Gandalf cried " You cannot pass!" without even sugestion of a errr...plea and shattered the Balrog's sword with Glamdring in the very first
clash.And Gandalf( Olorin) never teally have true mortal thoughts and feelings but "only" superior understanding and compassion towards the mortals struggles.

@julienschittenhelm7023

Power forged in pitty Is the way? I think we are confusing important words here... It is not Pitty. It is compassion...
Power forged in compassion is the way, not pitty. It is compassion, not pitty that prevented Bilbo from killing Golum.

@brianarnold8666

12:13 actually gandalf was naked when he came back to life. He got the robes from galadriel

@JohannFolscher-v3r

One life end's, another begins, it's a testament to Gandalf's character to mourn his former self🤍

@joannecunliffe8067

This was beautiful and stunning to listen to. What a joy to discover this channel. This is a masterful commentry. Thank you ❤ Jo x

@boydpease4103

As Gandalf was purified and light spectrum intensified, it surely would have affected Glamdring also... a white glowing fire blazing light Sabre sword!

Remember how Gandalf leaped onto the pyre and lifted Faramir leaping back down. Imagine a Troll breaking through somewhere. Then Gandalf leaps up and wielding Glamdring cuts the troll in half from head to crotch cauterizing each side.

Then as a row of Orcs spring in after imagine Gandalf weirds staff in left hand to immobilize the whole row and Glamdring sizzles through the Orc necks in one stroke!

THAT is the new Gandalf & Glamdring🤟

@franciswalsh8416

Very very good!! I really enjoyed this, and you nailed it!

@patrickfogg460

Didn’t Gwahir take Gandalf from the peak of Zirakzigil to Lothlorien? You said he walked down the mountain. And didn’t Galadriel give Gandalf both his white robes and his new white staff?

@aaront7974

Smoking some weed and listen to you talk about lotr is so good.

@Carmastrong855

Of all the LOTR channels, I love yours. Your voice is strong and soothing. Excellent story telling.

@thadbrodrick

This gave me goosebumps. Well done.

@risacademics

Insightful commentary 🐺

@heroiclives1278

Enjoyable, thanks

@laurathurlow3634

I would say that compassion stayed Bilbo's hand, though JRRT did use the word "pity". "Pity" involves seeing the other as lesser than. Compassion is an empathic sharing of suffering. Both were present but Bilbo (in addition to not wanting to get eaten) I think did feel compassion for Smeagol.

@JW-og4bj

Exceptional work, truly a cut above.
