ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? You came to my home town! Not for the best of reasons admittedly but still, I'm stoked and absolutely gutted i didn't see you. If it helps my case for living in the fattest town in thew UK I'm 4 stone down from 2023 and still working out.
This wasn’t a food vlog, this was a full-blown caloric war documentary
I love that this is like a serious documentary and not just “fitness influencer laughs at fat town” loved this, keep it up
As a Brit it’s so weird to see will in a British town centre
Bruh I’m in a will Tennyson vid holy shit 15:29
I gained 5kg watching this
Make no mistake! Fresh healthy foods are MUCH cheaper than takeaway food here in UK! The problem is that lots of people can’t cook so they don’t realise how much cheaper it is because they don’t know what to make themselves. Fresh vegetables with rice, pasta, lentils, herbs and spices. Eggs and beans on toast!
Start weight only 190 (13 lbs more) since the competition. This is how you properly go back to proper eating following a competition
Will's fairly unique attitude is he bothers to binge, appreciates the junk and takes time to understand the dangers of a bad diet. He doesn't just sit on his high horse and talk down to people. Love him. He makes the effort and is so funny with it. ❤❤
This is my hometown!! It's so strange to see a YouTuber walk around it! I remember going to these places when I was a youngster - they haven't changed. Thank you for being kind to the people and the places you visited. Poverty and substance abuse is endemic here, as it is in the rest of South Wales. I think food is just another escapism drug (like alcohol or smoking) for a really deprived and frankly depressing situation many people in my hometown have been dealing with for the best part of 50 years. That said, I think there is more to this story than just poverty. The food culture is representative of the industrial culture that was once there. Many people who were labourers working in the local coal mines and steel works would eat this kind of food to fuel very labour intensive jobs which didn’t pay very well; I know because my grandfather who worked in the steel works died of colon cancer caused by the highly processed cheap food he ate all his life. This relationship with food still remains where 'mass' and 'value' is considered the priority over healthiness. I also think the statistics are a little bit skewed due to the huge brain drain that has happened in the area. Young and educated people have left the Valleys for pastures new leaving behind the poor, deprived and down trodden. I was in school with many people like those in the video. These people have agency, but no ambition, drive or discipline. It's easy to blame the circumstances, but honestly I watched many people eat, smoke and drink themselves into and early grave when they had the choice to stand up and say no - it's tragic. The Welsh are a powerful, kind and hard working people. I hope that my people can break the cycle and take the responsibility into their own hands. I hope they can fight against the blight of poverty and deprivation which poisons them. Yma o hyd Ebbw Vale
I have an idea for a vid! Eating like someone in recovery from anorexia. Often times in treatment we go into hypermetabolic states during refeeding and require 5,000 kcal + a day! It’s wild. And excruciating. But then something called “extreme hunger” kicks in and even with all those calories it still doesn’t feel like enough and we’re starving. Man, refeeding after an extended period of intentional starvation and malnutrition is a wild ride. If you want some more info let me know! Def a niche topic lol. Also it’s not always like this for everyone in treatment for anorexia of course, but it’s a common experience.
Will Tennyson in Wales is something I never thought id see! 🏴 Cymru am byth
Would love to see you do a “how to eat healthy in Ebbw Vale” video, showing how to eat more fresh/frozen/canned fruits and vegetables economically, how to make changes/substitutions on eating out orders, in order to make them healthier (ie, ordering things pan-fried with spritz of water instead of butter, chicken with no sauce, or requesting a veggie salad based on the veggie ingredients they list in entrees [ie, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, etc.]), and how to develop an exercise habit using free resources (ie, body weight exercises, walking a nice tiny hill to start, etc.) or by hacking daily/weekly routines (ie, walking/jogging to get take out instead of delivery, if choosing to order out). That would be a very hopeful video that might move the needle in Ebbw Vale and similar places around the world.
Ain’t gonna lie, greggs is a bakery so makes sense there’s no salads, and only pastries
"Americans confused by the language of a British person describing a wild night out followed by a hangover" is my favourite type of content
Will, I always love your approach, you're always welcoming and non-judgmental and very friendly to staff, owners etc
Love that 'kid that recognized you on the street. Everyone seems so genuine and nice there . . ...
This town isn’t a place, it’s a cheat day with a postcode🍔🌭🍕🍟
I like how this is more of a documentary than just laughing at them. I also like the transparency and honesty of everyone here, very refreshing.
