You can't have a favourite oasis song, they keep changing all the time
Thanks Halfix for reminding me what a banger this was / still is
Celebrating having a ticket for Cardiff tomorrow for the first gig back! Watching these and already realising how emotional it’s going to be.❤️
Thanks Halifax advert for reminding me of this amazing song.
Uses to be a proper oasis fan, and as. Time passed, my tastes changed. Watching TV yesterday, and the new Halifax advert has this song on.. and suddenly, Bam! All I can think of is oasis again. Brilliant!
You know when you hear the start of a song and it instantly transports you back to 1997. Can almost feel it.
December 1997. I was in high school and I really loved this song. My uncle gave me a Sony radio player, and 10 blank cassettes, so I could record my favorite music from the radio. The 10 cassettes had all kind of music, but every one of them had this song in it. So, no matter which cassette i was listening, Stand by Me appeared over there, with the typical phrase in between: "You are listening Future 90.5fm" After some time my dad recognized that this song was everywhere, and asked me: "who are they? I guess you like them". "Yes dad, they are Oasis, they are british, and they are so cool. I love this song". He asked me what was the name of the song, and i told him: "Stand By Me". "And it's played by future 90.5fm" he said, and I laughed a lot. After some other time after that, one day he went to me room, and he said: "I have a surprise for you". "What is it?" So he took out of his pocket a small plastic box, and he passed it to me, and I couldn´t believe it. It was the cassette of "Be Here Now", the Oasis album, where Stand by Me is recorded. 100% original, with no radio ads in it. I was so happy, and I couldn't understand: "How did you knew the album?". He said he asked one of my friends what was the name of the album. I played that cassette a million times. It had some other masterpieces as Don't Go Away, All Around the World, and some little pearls as Do You Know What I Mean and Fade In-Out. I still have that cassete, although, I have to recognize, I haven't listen to it since a really long time, because I listen in digital now. But it was a complete and full milestone in my life. I still have my dad with me. He is older with a lot of gray hair, but he still remembers that day. "Do you remember when I gave you that Oasis cassette? It was pretty cool, huh?" Of course it is. I got a little rock in my eyes writing this. I just wanted to remember that time writing this, and now i have to hide from my coworkers so don't see my eyes wet. I love you dad.
Imagine being a Scottish guy and not being raised on this band as I've been in Canada for 35 years. And just now in Dec 2020 giving this band serious notice. Man I have so many tracks I'm hooked on. Like I was in a fukkking time warp. But I'm here now and listening. What a band man ffs.
Love the harmonies on this.. they sound so good together. What a pity they can't stand each other !
OASIS IS BACK!!!!!!
Just vibing out to some Oasis, before heading into work . Have a good day world ❤️
I met Noel at Heathrow Airport about 10yrs ago, he was so friendly and happy to have a chat. Cheers Noel.
People need to appreciate how incredible this band actually was. I miss them
That chorus.....man, brings a tear to my eye. That's what music should do, move you emotionally
I cried when the split I've cried since they reunited, seen them twice back in the day and seeing them in 2025, I can't express how excited I am.. Beautiful song and Liam is GORGEOUS on this vid.. welcome back and for getting your acts together.. life is way too short
Incredible how songs bring back such fresh memories. I was 16/17, sun was shining, we were trying to get tickets for Loch Lommond gigs, drinking far too much, couldn't wait to finish school and get old. Now I'm here, if give anything to be back there. Much love LG. X
This song is the definition of perfection, and one of the best songs Oasis ever did. From the little intro solo from 0:14 to 0:30, to the way Liam sings the "So what's the matter with you? Sing me something new" line, to Noel's backing vocals when they sing the chorus, this song showcases the true genius behind Oasis. Musically and lyrically
great bands, great music, 90's is the greatest fucking decade period
If there was youtube on 90's, this music video would have more than 10 billion views
