Most music ever written has a tonic pitch. But many, many music-lovers have never heard of such a thing. Use these 10 exercises to get more familiar with this stranger you know so well!

At the end of each clip, several piano notes will play. As long as your guess matches any of them, you're right! (The tonic pitch appears once in every octave.) And if there's no match, but your answer feels right, you've probably found the 5th, which is a good sign too.
